Since the U.S. smalltooth sawfish population was listed as endangered in 2003, these threats greatly decreased (some of the actions already existed before 2003). WebThe Batoidea, or rays, are classified into four orders: Myliobatiformes (including stingrays, manta rays, and eagle rays), Rajiformes (skates and guitarfish), Pristiformes (sawfish), and Torpediniformes (electric rays). Rays are flat-bodied and have ventrally located gill slits.
